Muscarella's Market in Boston's South End Has Apparently Closed

An independent grocery store in the South End of Boston appears to have shut down for good after being in business for about 2 1/2 years.

According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Muscarella's Market on Tremont Street appears closed, while another poster in the thread who works at a nearby restaurant confirms that the shop apparently closed last weekend. Muscarella's first opened in September of 2017, taking over the space where Five Seventy Market had been for a bit under 10 years until it closed in early 2016; like its predecessor, the shop offered salads, sandwiches, coffee, smoothies, and prepared meals, along with everyday items.

The address for Muscarella's Market was 570 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, 02118.
