A French-Canadian restaurant in Cambridge is setting up a space where people can buy grocery items and more.
According to an email sent to us, Cafe du Pays on Cardinal Medeiros Avenue is converting its lounge area into Vincent's Grocery for the time being, offering such options as fresh produce, meat and seafood, bakery and pantry items, beer, wine, and used cookbooks and records as well. We have been told that a grocery store called Vincent's had once been in the Cafe Du Pays space early in the last century, and the space had also been home to restaurants, a bar, and a music club long ago.
Vincent's Grocery is slated to debut today, while Cafe Du Pays is closed for now as the restaurant restrictions in Massachusetts continue due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The address for Cafe du Pays (and Vincent's Grocery) is 233 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02141. Its website can be found at http://cafedupays.com/
