A casual upscale Italian restaurant on the North Shore has closed its doors for good.
According to a source, Andiamo Restaurant + Bar in Newburyport is no longer in operation, with an Eagle Tribune article confirming that the Winter Street spot has indeed shut down permanently. A Facebook post from the restaurant indicates that the coronavirus outbreak had something to do with the decision, saying that "The Covid-19 continues to have a devastating impact on the restaurant industry and small businesses" while also stating that its Chelmsford location will remain open.
The Newburyport location of Andiamo opened in 2013, with Jim Rogers being behind the place; Rogers had previously worked at such restaurants as L'Espalier in Boston, Savoir Fare on Martha's Vineyard, Michael's Harborside in Newburyport, and Tuscan Kitchen in Salem, NH.
