A Florida-based chain of pizza spots with several locations in the Greater Boston area has closed one of its outlets.
According to a member of the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in Newton has shut down for good after being temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a Facebook post from a worker there confirming this, saying that "I sadly found out today [Monday, June 22] that this location will be permanently closed." Based on the locations page for the chain, it appears that its other locations in the region--in Littleton, Natick, Reading, and Westwood--remain in operation.
The Newton location of Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza first opened in early 2017, offering pizza along with salads, meatballs, sandwiches, and more. The chain has locations in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states as well as in Florida.
The address for the now-closed location of Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in Newton was 180 Needham Street, Newton, MA, 02464. The website for the chain can be found at https://acfp.com/
