Sofa Cafe in Framingham Has Closed for Good

A suburban coffee shop with roots in Boston's Back Bay has closed down.

According to a source, Sofa Cafe in Framingham has shut down permanently, with a post from the Framingham Source saying that the Concord Street spot has decided not to reopen after shuttering in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the article, building owner (and real estate agent) Marlene Aron says that "The owners were two doctors whose vision was to help young Brazilian men & women learn to become baristas....Regretfully, Sofa Cafe will not be re-opening."

Sofa Cafe had originally resided in a space on Newbury Street in Boston, with the place closing in the fall of 2016 in anticipation of its move to Framingham, which was completed in the spring of 2017.

The address for the now-closed Sofa Cafe was 181 Concord Street, Framingham, MA, 01702.
