Chef Chang's in Boston's Back Bay Is on the Market

A Chinese restaurant known in part for its northern Chinese fare and subterranean digs is apparently for sale.

According to a source, Chef Chang's in the Back Bay section of Boston is on the market, with a YouTube link showing a video of the Mass. Ave. spot while saying that "After decades of continued success in the dine in and take out business, seller presents a rare opportunity to obtain this restaurant in a highly desirable location." Like many dining spots in Boston and elsewhere during the COVID-19 pandemic, Chef Chang's has been closed for awhile, and while there had been rumors that the eatery had shut down for good, we hadn't been able to confirm this.

Chef Chang's first opened in the Back Bay in the summer of 2014, moving into the space where the Wine Cellar had once been. The restaurant featured such dishes as lamb with cumin sauce, northern Chinese pan-fried buns, shredded potato with hot and sour sauce, Xinjiang flat noodles, and more.

The address for Chef Chang's is 30 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA, 02115.
