It looks like an outdoor event space in South Boston will not be hosting outdoor events this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it will remain open--and it will focus on al fresco dining.
According to a notice from the people behind the space, The Lawn on D is being repurposed into an outdoor dining space, with 180 tables and 700 seats set up throughout the lawn. Food and drink will be provided by the Boston-based hospitality group Rebel Restaurants (Tony C's, Temazcal, Jack's Coal-Fired Pizza) with tableside service offered for both food and drink.
7 News Boston says that The Lawn on D opens its outdoor dining area today.
The Lawn on D is located at 420 D Street in Southie, which is just south of Summer Street and adjacent to The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority owns and operates The Lawn On D).
