After a long wait, restaurants in Massachusetts can finally offer cocktails for takeout.
According to a tweet from State Senator Diana DiZoglio, Governor Baker has just signed the cocktails-to-go bill into law, with this allowing dining spots to sell mixed drinks to customers for off-premises consumption as long as they are in sealed containers and sold with food purchases--and no more than two cocktails can be sold per entree. An earlier article from NBC Boston said that the bill was passed by the House on June 3, but it took until July 10 to get through the Senate.
A law allowing beer and wine to-go was passed this spring as a way to help restaurants and bars as they struggled with the shutdown that was put in place in March due to the coronavirus outbreak.
