White's Bakery and Cafe in Wellesley Has Closed for Good

A small local group of bakeries has permanently closed its newest location

According to an article from The Swellesley Report White's Bakery and Cafe in Wellesley is no longer in operation, with a Facebook post from the business saying that "We wish everyone well during these difficult times and hope to see you at one of our other locations in Brockton, Hingham and Mansfield." The Washington Street location of the bakery-cafe first opened in April of 2019, offering such options as breakfast items, cakes, pies, cookies, breads, and more.

White's dates back to 1980 with the opening of a shop in Florida, according to its website; the first Massachusetts location debuted in 1987 in Easton, with that one subsequently moving to Brockton. (Other outlets had once been located in Braintree and Canton as well.)

The address for the now-closed White's Bakery and Cafe in Wellesley was 380 Washington Street (Route 16), Wellesley, MA, 02481. The website for all locations can be found at https://www.whitesbakeryandcafe.com/
