A local group of Mexican restaurants has expanded to a new location, and this one has been in the works for a long time.
According to a message from Universal Hub and a post on the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Chilacates is now open in Roslindale, moving into the space on Washington Street where Redd's in Rozzie and Tony's Market had been, while an Instagram post from the business confirms that it has indeed opened. The Roslindale location of Chilacates joins others in Jamaica Plain (two), the South End, Mission Hill, and Chestnut Hill, and based on the offerings at those outlets, expect to see such items as tacos, burritos, tostadas, enchiladas, quesadillas, tortas, and more at the new spot.
Plans for the Roslindale location of Chilacates were first reported in the summer of 2018.
