A casual upscale Italian restaurant in the western suburbs is shutting down permanently.
According to several sources, Stellina Restaurant in Watertown is closing its doors, with one of our sources sending us a note from the Main Street eatery saying that "The reasons we are closing will come as no surprise to anyone: the persistent presence of Covid19 and the limited seating required to keep people safely distanced make operating Stellina untenable." The note indicates that the dining spot is slated to be open from Tuesday, August 18 through Saturday, August 22, at which point it will shutter for good.
Stellina first opened nearly 35 years ago, offering such dishes as mussels piccata, fried calamari, grilled sea scallops, chicken marsala, carbonara, bolognese, and pesto.
The address for Stellina Restaurant is 47 Main Street, Watertown, MA, 02472. Its website can be found at http://stellinarestaurant.com/
