Farthest Star Sake Brewery and Taproom Could Be Coming to Medfield

A new brewery that would apparently be the only one of its kind in New England may be on its way to the southwest suburbs of Boston.

According to an article from Eater Boston, Farthest Star Sake Brewery and Taproom is looking to open in Medfield, with a fundraising page for the business seeking a total of $100,000 in investment money over the next two months or so for its buildout. Todd Bellomy, who is the person behind the proposed facility, was also one of the founders of the now-closed Dovetail Sake Brewery in Waltham, and his plan for Farthest Star is to produce filtered and cloudy sake styles that would be offered in the taproom along with at restaurants and stores.

A note sent to us from The Passionate Foodie mentions that there have been a few sake businesses in New England over the years, but all of them appear to have shut down.
