The Mad Raven in Waltham to Become Tessie's West

An Irish pub in the western suburbs that has been closed since the start of the coronavirus outbreak is getting a new name.

According to a source, The Mad Raven in Waltham is going to become Tessie's West, with a Facebook post from The Waltham Channel quoting owner Mark McAuliffe as saying that "We decided to rebrand and refresh" while mentioning that The Raven's Nest in Walpole, which is currently open for takeout and is also run by McAuliffe, "kept us alive during COVID....We're selling more food than we ever did pre-COVID." The new name for the Waltham pub is an apparent reference to Tessie's Bar & Kitchen, another dining and drinking spot in Walpole that is owned by McAuliffe.

A date for the changeover of The Mad Raven (which first opened approximately 20 years ago) to Tessie's West is not yet known.

The address for the upcoming Tessie's West is 841 Main Street, Waltham, MA, 02451.

[June 9, 2021 update: A Twitter post indicates that Tessie's West plans to debut in July.]
