Cafe Iterum Is Opening at Clippership Wharf in East Boston

Last year it was reported that a restaurant focusing on noodles might be coming to the Jeffries Point section of East Boston, only to have those plans fall through. Now we have learned that the person behind those plans has found a location nearby for a different concept, and it will reside in a waterfront location.

According to a press release, Cafe Iterum is going to be opening at Clippership Wharf on Lewis Street in Eastie, with Matthew McPherson (South End Buttery, Porto, Menton, Craigie on Main) being behind the spot. As reported earlier, McPherson's original concept--The Noodle Bar By Iterum Foods--was hoping to open on Sumner Street but a statement sent to us today mentions that they lost the lease for that space, and while looking for a new space for that restaurant, they found a space for what will be a smaller cafe concept. The statement says that The Noodle Bar is apparently still in the works and they continue to look for locations for that concept, so stay tuned for any updates as they come in.

Cafe Iterum will offer comfort food items with global influences along with coffee, and as is the case with the upcoming Noodle Bar, it will focus on sustainability and zero waste. If all goes as planned the cafe will open early next spring.

[February 24, 2022 update: According to a tweet from @bobbyjmain, Cafe Iterum is now open.]
