Dunkin' Brands to Be Sold to Inspire Brands for $8.76 Billion, Will Be Taken Private

Earlier this week it was reported that a local company that oversees one of the best-known brands in the country may be going up for sale. Now we have learned that the sale will indeed be going through, and the buyer already operates several national chains.

According to an article from Reuters, Dunkin' Brands will be purchased by Inspire Brands with the sale price being $8.76 Billion, and as indicated earlier, the Canton-based company will be taken private. Dunkin' Brands is the parent company of Dunkin' (formerly Dunkin' Donuts) and Baskin Robbins while Inspire Brands includes such brands as Arby's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jimmy John's, and Sonic Drive-In.

Inspire Brands says that including debt, the deal has a total value of approximately $11.3 billion.
