Villa Mexico in Downtown Boston Has Gone into Hibernation

A beloved Mexican restaurant in the heart of Boston is the latest dining spot to go into hibernation.

According to a tweet from the place, Villa Mexico on Water Street in the city's Financial District has shut down for now, with the post saying that it will reopen on January 11. This hibernation is different from many of the others that have taken place in and around Boston, as restaurants that have shut down for the winter are generally looking to open back up in the spring or whenever a vaccine and/or therapeutic is in place.

Villa Mexico had once been located within a gas station on Cambridge Street in Beacon Hill until closing in 2013; the dining spot reopened in its current space in downtown Boston three years later.

The address for Villa Mexico is 121 Water Street, Boston, MA, 02109. Its website is at https://www.villamexicocafe.us/
