Governor Baker Issues Rollback to Phase 3, Step 1 Starting December 13

In light of the latest surge of the COVID-19 pandemic, Massachusetts is taking a step back.

In today's press conference, Governor Charlie Baker has announced that the Commonwealth will be rolling back to Phase 3, Step 1 beginning on Sunday, December 13. This rollback affects restaurants, including the reduction of maximum table size from 10 to 6, a 90-minute time limit on tables, and diners being encouraged to only sit with members of the same household--and customers will need to wear masks at all times except when they are actually eating and drinking (they cannot take the masks off the minute they sit down). In addition, all musical performances will now be prohibited at restaurants, food court seating will be shut down in malls and other spaces, and all indoor performance venues will be closed.

The Baker administration is hoping that these new restrictions will be temporary, especially considering that vaccines are now on the horizon.
