Update: Al Capone in Downtown Boston Has Closed

[Ed note: This article was updated on October 5 to reflect confirmation that the place has closed down.]

It looks like the future of a sandwich place in the heart of Boston is in doubt.

According to a tweet from @FortPointer, Al Capone on Summer Street has been "completely emptied out," with a check on its website showing that it is under construction while its phone number is no longer in service. The shop has been a popular place for office workers, offering a variety of breakfast dishes along with salads, hot and cold subs, wraps, pizza, pasta, calzones, and cannoli.

The address for Al Capone in downtown Boston is 82 Summer Street, Boston, MA, 02110.
