Last week it was reported that a lobby bar and a rooftop restaurant that would soon be opening within a rebranded hotel in Boston were getting ready to open and that a New York-based restaurant group would be running the two spots. Now we have learned that that group will also be opening a location of a group of casual Italian-American restaurants in the northern suburbs.
According to an article from Eater Boston, Major Food Group is planning to open Parm within the Burlington Mall, with the eatery possibly offering such options as chicken parm subs, meatballs, fried calamari, freshly-cut mozzarella sticks, rigatoni fra diavola, spaghetti and meatballs, and more depending on how similar the menu is to those at their other five locations--four of which are in New York City and one of which is in Woodbury (which is north of the city). No opening date has been given for the new outlet at the Burlington Mall, so stay tuned for any updates as they come in.
Major Food Group plans to open Street Bar within The Newbury hotel in Boston on May 18, as well as Contessa, an Italian restaurant on the rooftop of the hotel, in the middle of June. [Ed note: Now open.]
