A shop that sold New York-style bagels has shut down, though the hope is that it could reopen under new ownership.
Universal Hub is reporting (via a tweet from @ndoyle) that Local 338 Bagels & Coffee in West Roxbury is now closed, with a sign out front and a note from the Centre Street spot both indicating that a new owner could possibly be taking over, though this doesn't appear to be written in stone as of yet. Local 338 first opened in the fall of 2017, with its name coming from a union that had once represented bagel bakers in New York City; the bagels from the shop were mostly made in New York then frozen and brought to Boston for final preparation.
The address for Local 338 was 1727 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA, 02132.
