Last summer, it was reported that a new restaurant was going to be opening in Brookline Village, and now we have learned that it has debuted.
According to a message sent to us, the Garrison House is now open in the former Magnolia Smokehouse space, with the dining spot opening its doors last weekend. As mentioned earlier, this is a new venture from Hawkeye Hospitality, which is behind Elm Street Taproom, Five Horses Tavern, and Worden Hall, and it offers such options as meatloaf meatballs, fried chicken sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, wings, burgers, pizza, oven-roasted salmon, filet mignon, and more.
The now-closed Magnolia Smokehouse (and an affiliated basement bar called The Ellis Room) had been operated by East Coast Tavern Group, which is also behind Emmet's, Roxanne's, Sunset Cantina, Carrie Nation and Scholars in Boston as well as another location of Emmet's in Norwood.
The address for the Garrison House is 6 Harvard Square, Brookline, MA, 02445. Its website can be found at https://www.garrisonhousebrookline.com/
