Update: Doug Bacon Plans to Open New Restaurant in Former Pizzeria Regina Space in Allston

[Ed note: This article was updated to reflect the fact that the name given in the hearing notice is a working name only.]

A new dining spot may be coming to a sprawling space in Allston, and a well-known restaurateur appears to be involved.

According to a licensing board hearing page within the City of Boston website, a new restaurant tentatively called Depot Dining is planning to open on Cambridge Street, taking over the former Pizzeria Regina space. The manager listed for the proposed place is Doug Bacon, who is behind a number of restaurants and bars in the local area, including Hopewell Bar & Kitchen, Harry's Bar & Grill, and The Kenmore.

A couple of years ago, it was reported that Great Scott (an iconic--and now-closed--music club) might move into the Regina's space, but those plans apparently fell through at some point.

The address for the proposed new restaurant from Doug Bacon is 353 Cambridge Street, Allston, MA, 02134.

[May 9 update: Universal Hub states that an actual name has not been decided for the restaurant, as Depot Dining is simply a working name.]
