It looks like a pair of Italian restaurants with an award-winning chef behind them may be expanding to a third location.
According to a licensing board hearing page within the City of Boston website, MIDA is planning to open in East Boston, moving into a space on Lewis Street where the Slip 65 luxury condo complex at Clippership Wharf is located. The notice mentions that the proposed dining spot would have a ground-floor dining area and bar along with an outdoor patio, and that Seth Gerber--who is one of the partners of the locations of MIDA in the South End and Newtonville--would be the manager. Douglass Williams, who was was picked as one of the best new chefs in America by Food & Wine in 2020, is behind the two MIDA restaurants along with Gerber and partner Brian Lesser, and they also run APIZZA at Hub Hall Boston by North Station.
