A local restaurant group that has a number of Japanese dining spots in the Greater Boston area will be opening a new outlet a few miles west of Boston.
According to a source, JP Fuji Group is getting ready to open a new location of Fuji at the Trio Newton mixed-use development at the corner of Walnut Street and Washington Street in Newtonville, with a sign up for the place saying "Fuji of Newton." Once it opens, the new location--which is also where an outlet of Douglass Williams' Mida resides--will join other locations of Fuji at High Street Place and the Ink Block in Boston, Kendall Square in Cambridge, Assembly Row in Somerville, and Quincy Center, along with Shabu & Mein in Kendall Square and YoCha, b cafe, and Shabu Restaurant, all of which are in North Quincy and are part of JP Fuji Group.
The website for JP Fuji Group is at https://www.jpfujigroup.com/ while the website for the Newton location is at https://www.fujiatnewton.com/
[September 23 update: According to its website, Fuji is now open in Newtonville (the website calls it "Fuji of Newton").]
