Batifol Is Opening in the Former Abigail's Space in Cambridge's Kendall Square

A new restaurant is coming to Cambridge, replacing a dining spot that went on the market a couple of years ago--and the new place appears to have a connection to a popular Boston restaurant.

According to a source, Batifol is planning to open in Kendall Square, moving into the former Abigail's space on Third Street. A page within the bionicegg.com site shows that the upcoming spot will be a Parisienne brasserie that will offer brunch, lunch, and dinner service and that it will serve wine and cocktails, and a picture of the storefront that our source posted shows an email for Petit Robert Bistro on Columbus Avenue in Boston's South End. It appears that if all goes as planned, Batifol will open sometime this summer.

Abigail's was an eclectic restaurant that first opened in 2011 and was known in part for its raw bar, BBQ, sandwiches, craft beer, and cocktails; in June of 2020, a "restaurant space available" sign was posted in one of its windows.

The address for Batifol is 291 Third Street, Cambridge, MA, 02142.

[September 30 update: The Boston Globe states that Batifol is now open.]
