A new cafe is on its way to downtown Boston, and it is connected to an historic library.
Based on information from a source along with a message from the Boston Athenaeum, Folio is opening adjacent to the Athenaeum toward the end of the summer, and it will be open to the public with its own street entrance. The website for The Catered Affair (which is behind Folio) says that that diners will be able to "nosh made-to-order shareable plates, discover new and old-world wines, and sip craft cocktails in a European-inspired setting," while an Instagram post mentions that Alexandra Knibbe will be the restaurant manager, returning to the United States from France to be a part of the place.
The Boston Athenaeum is a membership library that is also one of the oldest independent libraries in the entire country (it was founded in 1807).
The address for the upcoming Folio is 14 Beacon Street, Boston, MA, 02108. Its web page is at https://www.thecateredaffair.com/folio/ while its Instagram page is at https://www.instagram.com/folioboston/
