A new dining spot featuring a type of pizza that is becoming more and more popular in the local area is coming to Boston.
According to a tweet from @thompspicks, a sign is up for Detroit Pizza Co. in the Oak Square section of Brighton, with a voting agenda page within the City of Boston website indicating that the Washington Street eatery may only be for takeout/delivery as the place will have no seats, while the manager listed is Anastasios Anastasiadis. Once it opens, the new spot will join a handful of other places locally that serve Detroit-style pizza (which has similarities to both Sicilian/bakery pizza and Chicago-style deep dish), including Volo in Swampscott, Johnny Pomodoro in Charlestown, Avenue Kitchen + Bar in Somerville, Square MFG Co. in Natick, and Needham House of Pizza.
The address for Detroit Pizza Co. is 600A Washington Street, Brighton, MA, 02135. Its website can be found at https://www.dpcboston.com/
[August 16 update: According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Detroit Pizza Co. is now open in Brighton.]
