An award-winning ramen spot in Brookline is going to be opening a new location in the southern suburbs of Boston.
According to multiple posters on social media, Ganko Ittetsu Ramen is opening in Braintree, moving into a space within a strip mall on Quincy Avenue that had been home to South Shore Desi Market. A Patriot Ledger article from March mentioned Ganko's plans while saying it could open in July, though it has not opened as of yet, and its original location inside the arcade building on Harvard Street in Coolidge Corner has been closed since earlier this month for repairs.
The Brookline location of Ganko has received much praise since opening in 2015, including being awarded best ramen in 2021 by Boston Magazine; another location had once been in Providence as well, but that one is no longer in business.
The address for the upcoming Ganko Ittetsu Ramen in Braintree is 224 Quincy Avenue, Braintree, MA, 02184. The website for the original location in Brookline can be found at https://gankoramen.com/
[August 23, 2024 update: A new Instagram post from the place indicates that the Braintree location of Ganko is finally getting ready to open, though no date has been given as of yet. (The post says that "We are excited to announce the opening" of the new location, with more updates coming soon.)]
[October 10, 2024 update: According to its social media, the Braintree location of Ganko hopes to open sometime this month.]
