A new restaurant is possibly on its way to Jamaica Plain, and the person who is behind it had previously been involved with a pizza spot not too far away.
According to an article in the Jamaica Plain News, Mario's is opening in Hyde Square, with a Facebook post saying that it would be moving into the space on Perkins Street that had been home to Pizza Oggi. The article mentions that Mario Bailote--who was one of the people behind the now-closed Mario's Pizzeria on Humboldt Avenue in Roxbury--is opening the place. Very little information on the upcoming restaurant has been given, so stay tuned for updates.

[December 22 update: Adam Gaffin of Universal Hub tells us (via an Instagram post) that Mario's has soft-opened in Jamaica Plain, though for pickup only for now.]
