A new Japanese restaurant is opening in the Back Bay of Boston, and it will be replacing a location of a local group of dining spots.
An earlier post within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page indicated that Sugidama Back Bay is planning to open on Boylston Street, moving into the space where an outlet of B.Good had been, though now it appears (via another post within the group page) that the name of the place will actually be Sakabayashi Sushi Tavern and What Now Boston indicates that it will offer such items as sushi, ramen, and seafood side dishes, along with a variety of Japanese sake options. The post mentions the Japan-based Food & Life Companies is behind the spot and that if all goes as planned, it will open sometime in February or March. (Universal Hub says that the Boston Licensing Board has given its approval for the restaurant, which will be Food & Life's first in the United States.)
The address for the upcoming Sakabayashi Sushi Tavern is 665 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02116.
[April 26, 2024 update: According to a press release, Sakabayashi is now open in the Back Bay.]
