A new dining spot with Portuguese influences is opening in the South End of Boston, and a local restaurant group is behind it.
According to a post within the jobs section of bostonchefs.com, Baleia is currently hiring for all positions for their opening team, with the restaurant being located within the Troy Building between E. Berkley Street and Traveler Street. The job post mentions that Baleia (which means "whale" in Portuguese) will offer Portuguese-inspried dishes along with cocktails and an all-Portuguese wine list, while the space will have just under 90 seats and a bar with 15 seats. (BosGuy first wrote about Baleia earlier this year.)
Coda Restaurant Group, which runs SRV Boston, The Salty Pig, and Gufo, will be opening the new restaurant.
The address for Baleia is 264 E. Berkeley Street, Boston, MA, 02118. Its website can be found at https://www.baleiaboston.com/
[March 10, 2024 update: According to its website, Baleia is now open.]
