A brand new upscale tavern is in the process of opening within a restaurant complex just off the Southeast Expressway.
An email sent to us indicates that Ballast Kitchen & Bar has soft-opened at the Common Market Restaurants on Willard Street, taking over the space that had been home to the Chowder House. We have been told that the space has gone through renovations and that the new dining and drinking spot gives a nod toward its historic location along the Granite Railway. The menu for the place includes such items as wings, grilled octopus, blistered shishito peppers, Duxbury oysters, tuna poke bowls, burgers, chili glazed salmon, braised short ribs, steak frites, and roasted chicken, along with beer, wine, and cocktails.
In addition to Ballast Kitchen & Bar, Common Market Restaurants also includes Darcy's Pub, The Cafe at the Common Market, and the Common Market food court.
The address for Ballast Kitchen & Bar is 110 Willard Street, Quincy, MA, 02169. The website for all dining spots at the Common Market Restaurants complex is at https://commonmarketrestaurants.com/
