A new ice cream shop could be coming to a Boston neighborhood, taking over the space where another ice cream shop had been.
According to an article from Universal Hub (via a post within the Keep Roslindale Quirky Facebook group), Sweeties is planning to open in Roslindale, moving into the space on Corinth Street that had been home to Jimmies Cafe until it closed earlier this year. UH mentions that the proposed shop would feature New Zealand ice cream (soft serve blended with fresh fruit), though the plans appear to be in their early stages as owner Anika Gramsey needs to get approval for a common victualler license by the city of Boston.
Jimmies, which had been in business since 2009 until shutting down in January, was known in part for its ice cream while also offering salads, sandwiches, chicken fingers, empanadas, fries, and more.
The address for Sweeties is 48 Corinth Street, Roslindale, MA, 02131. Its website is at https://www.sweeties-social.com/ while its Instagram page is at https://www.instagram.com/sweeties_social
[June 7 update: A message from Adam Gaffin of Universal Hub indicates that Sweeties is now open in Roslindale.]
