Kupel's Bakery in Brookline May Be Expanding to Somerville

A decades-old bagel spot in Brookline could be expanding to a second location.

According to an article from Universal Hub (via a flyer for a meeting about the plans), Kupel's Bakery is looking to open a new shop in Somerville, with the Elm Street address indicating that it would move into a space behind Porter Square near the Somerville/Cambridge line. The flyer mentions that the proposed location would be a bakery, cafe, and coffee shop, and that a neighborhood meeting on the plan had been slated to take place last night.

Kupel's first opened its doors on Harvard Street near Coolidge Corner in 1978.

The address for the proposed location of Kupel's Bakery in Somerville is 54A Elm Street, Somerville, MA, 02144. The website for the Brookline location is at https://www.kupelsbakery.com/
