Mondo Plans to Open in Boston's South End

A new restaurant and bar may be on its way to the South End of Boston.

According to a licensing committee hearing page, a dining/drinking spot tentatively called Mondo is looking to open on Columbus Avenue, moving into a space just east of the Massachusetts Avenue intersection. The notice mentions that the proposed place would have a dining area and bar seating along with a seasonal outdoor patio, and the manager listed is Spenser Payne, who runs Neighborhood Wines on Tremont Street in the South End. The hearing is slated to take place next week, so more should be known about the plans at that point.

The address for the proposed Mondo is 563 Columbus Avenue, Boston, MA, 02118.
