A Peruvian-Italian restaurant just north of Boston will be adding some new menu items to its current offerings--and they come from an acclaimed dining spot that had been in the North End until closing early on in the pandemic.
According to a press release, Chef José Duarte of Tambo 22 in Chelsea will be adding some of the best-known menu items from Taranta (which had been located on Hanover Street until shutting down in August of 2020), with options including brined double thick pork chop with chancaca and rocoto, chicken parm with cancha corn crust and fusilli pomodoro with Peruvian panca pepper, and gnocchi di yuca with a braised lamb ragu seco style, along with some new dishes as well. In the press release, Duarte mentions that "Taranta represented the bridge between two cultures — Italy and Peru — and Tambo 22 gives those flavors a new home....It's about keeping that story alive while inviting a new generation of diners to experience it." The new menu items from Taranta will be introduced on Thursday, August 23.
Tambo 22 first opened its doors in Chelsea in March of 2020.
The address for Tambo 22 is 22 Adams Street, Chelsea, MA, 02150. Its website can be found at https://tambo22chelsea.com/
