A casual upscale suburban restaurant in the southwest suburbs of Boston that appeared to have shut down early in the pandemic only to open back up a couple of years later is now going to be closing permanently.
According to a Facebook post from the business, Olivadi Restaurant in Norwood is getting ready to say farewell, with the post from the Guild Street dining spot saying the following:
To our wonderful friends, family, and community, after many amazing years, we have made the difficult decision to close Olivadi Restaurant & Bar. Olivadi opened in 2008 when our father, Anthony Delapa, set out to create something truly special right here in downtown Norwood. Ever since, our family has been proud to be part of this community and welcome so many of you through our doors....From our family to yours, thank you for 18 years of memories, friendship, and support. Grazie di cuore
The note mentions that its last night of service will be Saturday, October 10.
Back in the middle part of 2020, Olivadi appeared to have closed for good because of the impact of Covid-19, along with the passing of Anthony Delapa; the restaurant did end up reopening in the spring of 2022.
