The Future of Topsfield Bakeshop on Main Street in Topsfield Appears to Be in Question

One of a trio of bakeries north of Boston is facing an uncertain future.

According to a message sent to us, the lease for Topsfield Bakeshop on Main Street in the center of Topsfield is set to expire at the end of the year, and based on an earlier Facebook post from the place, it does not look like the lease can be extended because another lease appears to be in place for the space. The store, which has been in business for more than 10 years, gets much of its business from various events including the Topsfield Fair, and we have been told that business has taken a hit this year due to the pandemic resulting in the cancelling of multiple events (including the Topsfield Fair).

Another Topsfield Bakeshop can be found on Boston Street in Topsfield while a popup location is located in Burlington. (The website for all locations is at https://www.topsfieldbakeshop.com/)

Bagel Bin Deli Opens in Former Daybreak Cafe Space in Topsfield

A new restaurant has come to a North Shore community that has very few dining options, and the name comes from a place that was destroyed in a fire a couple of months ago.

According to an article in Wicked Local, the Bagel Bin Deli is now open in Topsfield, moving into the space on Main Street where The Daybreak Cafe had been. The post mentions that Hansi Vlladesi, who purchased the space from his uncle Billy, is part of the same Vlladesi family that ran the Bagel Bin Deli in Revere that was hit by a blaze in late July. (The Revere location is in the process of being rebuilt.) The new Bagel Bin Deli in Topsfield is open for breakfast and lunch daily, offering such items as bagels, waffles, omelets, salads, sandwiches, rice bowls, and steak tips.

Osteria Peppino Pizza Opens in Topsfield

A brand new Italian restaurant has come to a Boston suburb that has little in the way of dining options.

According to an article from Wicked Local, Osteria Peppino Pizza is now open in Topsfield, moving into a space on Boston Street (Route 1) toward the northern edge of town. The post says that the new dining spot offers wood-fired pizza along with house-made pasta dishes, and that it includes bistro-style seating by the kitchen along with dining room tables.

Topsfield's dining options are limited mainly to a handful of counter-service spots in its town center, with the stretch of Route 1 that cuts through town having nearly zero options other than the new Osteria Peppino Pizza and a Dunkin' Donuts.
