Fork Lift Food Fest Coming to Boston's City Hall Plaza, July 18-21, 2013

A "festival within a festival" is coming to downtown Boston this month, and its focus will be on food.

According to the Outside the Box site, the Fork Lift Food Fest will take place at City Hall Plaza from Thursday, July 18 through Sunday, July 21 at the Outside the Box music and performing arts festival, with a number of area restaurants and chefs participating. The Boston Globe states that the food fest will include tastings, a beer and wine emporium, chef demos, and book signings, with food tasting tickets being sold in sets of five for $1 each. (The food samplings will range from one to five tickets per dish.) A few of the chefs who will be there include Jody Adams (Rialto, Trade), Andy Husbands (Tremont 647), Kevin Long (Empire), Jeremy Sewall (Island Creek Oyster Bar), and Lydia Shire (Scampo, Towne). Hours for the Fork Lift Food Fest are 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM Thursday through Saturday and 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday.

Outside the Box will run from Saturday, July 13 through Sunday, July 21.

WZLX Monster Food Truck Festival to Be Held in Framingham October 9, 2011

A food truck festival is coming to the MetroWest region of Boston this weekend, and a number of local food trucks will be participating.

According to Boston.com, the WZLX Monster Food Truck Festival will be held on Sunday, October 9 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Shopper's World parking lot in Framingham. The article states that some of the trucks expected at the event include Captain's Coffee Brewers, The Cupcakory, Go Fish!, Grilled Cheese Nation, Jake's Sweet Meat BBQ, Snappy Dogs, Woodman's of Essex, and others. In addition to the food trucks, live music will also be offered and apparel trucks will be at the site as well.

The organizer of the WZLX Monster Food Truck Festival--Food Truck Festivals of New England--will also be hosting another food truck event at Suffolk Downs in East Boston on October 22.

Armenian Street Fair and Festival Returns to Watertown, September 9-11, 2011

An event that celebrates the Armenian community in and around Boston returns to East Watertown in September, and as was the case last year, it will include a variety of authentic Armenian foods.

An email received from Image Unlimited Communications indicates that the 2nd annual Armenian Street Fair & Festival will be held from Friday, September 9 through Sunday, September 11 at The Armenian Cultural and Educational Center (ACEC) on Nichols Avenue (two blocks south of Mt. Auburn Street and two blocks west of Arlington Street). The event will include Armenian dishes from food vendors such as Arax Market, Eastern Lamejun, Fastachi, and Massis Bakery, with items including tabouleh, humus, stuffed grape leaves, kabobs, kheyma, lamejun, choreg, and baklava.

In addition to food, the Armenian Street Fair & Festival will also feature live music, children's activities, and more.

Admission to the event is free, with tickets required for entertainment performances. Hours are 7:00 PM to midnight on Friday, noon to midnight on Saturday, and noon to 7:00 PM on Sunday.

Armenian Street Fair and Festival Coming to Watertown September 11-12, 2010

A event that celebrates and showcases the Boston-area Armenian community is coming to Watertown in September, and it will include traditional Armenian food as well as live music and more.

An email sent to us by Image Unlimited Communications indicates that the first ever Armenian Street Fair & Festival will be held on Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12 at The Armenian Cultural and Educational Center (ACEC) on Nichols Avenue in East Watertown. The event will feature Armenian dishes from food vendors such as Eastern Lamejun, Fastachi, and Massis Bakery, and there will also be an art exhibit, an historical exhibit, music from several performers, and a children's section.

Hours for the event will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Saturday, September 11, and 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 12. Ticket prices are $10 for adults for a one-day pass ($15 for both days) and $4 for children between the ages of 2 and 12 for a one-day pass ($6 for both days). Children under the age of 2 are free.

Portuguese Festival Coming to Woburn Friday, August 13 to Sunday, August 15, 2010

Woburn will be home to a festival this coming weekend, with a wide variety of Portuguese foods offered in addition to music from a DJ and a band.

Based on a post on the Chowhound site, the Portuguese festival will be held today, tomorrow, and Sunday at the Portuguese American Club on Route 38 between Winchester and Woburn centers. The post mentions that some of the foods included will be pork steak, linguica, tripe, and malasadas. Beer and wine will also be available.

2009 Phantom Gourmet Beer and Food Phest to be Held October 24 and 25

The second annual Phantom Gourmet Beer and Food Phest will be coming to Suffolk Downs in East Boston later this month. The event will be held on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, and will be mostly an indoor event with a variety of vendors offering food and drink to guests. Included among the festivities are a mechanical bull, sumo wrestling, a dance party, and more.

Hours for the Phantom Gourmet Beer and Food Phest are 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Saturday and 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday. Tickets to get in are 2 for $5 in advance, or $5 each at the gate, with food and beverage being extra.

Vendors at the festival will include Firefly's, Fuddruckers, Harrows Chicken Pies, Wicked Whoopies, and several others. Drinks offered will include Bass, Beck's, Hoegaarden, Landshark, and more.

Phantom Gourmet Beer and Food Fest Coming November 8, 2008

A brand new Phantom Gourmet festival begins this coming weekend. The Phantom Gourmet Beer and Food Fest will be held at Suffolk Downs in East Boston this coming Saturday, November 8, from 12:00 noon until midnight. Tickets are $4.00 in advance, or $5.00 at the show.

Vendors at the Phantom Gourmet Beer and Food Fest include Firefly's, Fuddruckers, Harrows, the Sausage Guy, the Sunset Grill, Wholly Cannoli, and more. There will be a number of different beers offered from Bass, Beck's, Budweiser, Hoegaarden, Michelob, and Stella Artois, to name a few.

Wellfleet OysterFest Coming October 18-19, 2008

The 2008 Wellfleet OysterFest is returning to Cape Cod this weekend. Starting on Saturday, October 18 and running through Sunday, October 19, the two-day festival in the center of Wellfleet is free of charge and will feature a variety of events, including music, an arts and crafts fair, cooking demonstrations, and oyster shucking contests. Food will be offered by a number of dining spots, including the Flying Fish Cafe, Moby Dick's Restaurant, Terra Luna, Mac's Seafood, Mustard Seed Kitchen, and many more.
