Emmy Squared Pizza Is Opening within Swingers Back Bay in Boston

A growing group of pizzerias with roots in New York City will be expanding to Boston, and it will be located within a golf-themed entertainment spot that is also coming to the city.

According to a press release, Emmy Squared Pizza is opening within Swingers Back Bay, with the complex being slated to debut on Boylston Street on February 27. The dining spot, which can also be found within other Swingers locations along with standalone spaces (the closest is currently in Westport, CT) is known for its pizza that combines New York-style grandma pie with Detroit-style, while also featuring double-stack burgers and more. (Swingers will also offer beer, wine, and cocktails.)

Emmy Squared Pizza first started out in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn in 2016.

Swingers to Open in Boston's Back Bay

A multi-floor golf-themed entertainment spot with roots overseas will be expanding to Boston.

According to a recent press release (along with an earlier Universal Hub article), Swingers is going to be opening in the Back Bay, taking over the space on Boylston Street that had been home to a location of Crate & Barrel. The press release mentions that the Tavistock Restaurant Collection (Abe & Louie's, Atlantic Fish Co., Joe's) is collaborating with the London-based Swingers, with the 21,000-square-foot Boston location including a retro English country club design that includes mini-golf courses, multiple cocktail bars, an old-fashioned arcade, and a menu that focuses on elevated street food.

If all goes as planned, Swingers will open in the fall of 2025.

X-Golf Burlington to Open in the Former Chuck E. Cheese Space

A small group of indoor golf centers is opening an outlet in the northern suburbs, and it would include a restaurant.

According to a source, X-Golf Burlington is looking to open within a section of the old Chuck E. Cheese space on Wall Street, with a post from ma-burlington.civicplus.com and an article from the Daily Times Chronicle confirming this, showing that the Burlington location would included a handful of golf simulators with seating for food and drink at each station, while additional full-service seating for dining and drinking would be in the center of the space along with a kitchen area. Once it opens, the new X-Golf would join one other in Massachusetts in Wayland, along with approximately 30 other locations across the country.

[September 15 update: A job post within the Craigslist site indicates that X-Golf has a tentative grand opening date of September 23 for its Burlington location.]
