Fire Causes Extensive Damage to TC's Lounge in Boston

A popular dive bar located near where Boston's Back Bay and Fenway neighborhoods meet was heavily damaged by a fire yesterday evening.

The Boston Globe reports that TC's Lounge on Haviland Street sustained approximately $250,000 in damage due to the fire, which was quickly put out by Boston firefighters. The Universal Hub site mentions that the two-alarm fire was called in just after 4:30 PM and was put out a little after 5:00. No injuries were reported.

It is not known at this time how long TC's Lounge will remain closed, nor is it known the exact extent of the damage to the bar. As soon as we find out more, we will post an update here.

[April 10 update: The Back Bay Patch is reporting that TC's Lounge does plan to reopen, though it is not known exactly when. The article mentions that repairs to the bar won't be starting until they hear from the insurance company, and the look of the place will be kept as close to the original as possible.]

The address for TC's Lounge is 1 Haviland Street (just west of Mass. Ave.), Boston, MA, 02115.
