Cluckit! in Boston's South End Has Closed; Another New Concept Coming

A South End dining spot with a well-known Boston-area restaurateur behind it has closed after being in business for only a few months, and the space will undergo another reconcepting.

Eater Boston has confirmed what a source hinted to us last month, that Cluckit! on Tremont Street has shuttered, with Brian Poe and the Wilcox group revamping it into what will be a casual neighborhood restaurant and bar. This is the second time this year that the space has been reconcepted, as a Southern-style restaurant called Estelle's closed in June and reopened as Cluckit!, a place that featured flame-grilled chicken.

No name has been given to the upcoming dining and drinking spot as of yet, and it is not known when exactly it might open, so keep checking back for updates.

[December 3 update: A message sent from Brian Poe indicates that the new concept coming to the former Cluckit! space could be opening "spring-ish 2016," though it appears that no name or specific concept has been decided upon as of yet.]

Other restaurants that Poe is involved with include Poe's Kitchen at the Rattlesnake in Boston's Back Bay, Bukowski's Tavern in the Back Bay and Cambridge's Inman Square, and Tip Tap Room in the Beacon Hill section of the city.

The address for this upcoming restaurant and bar in the South End is 782 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, 02118.
