Fat Hen Is Opening within La Brasa in East Somerville

It looks like an Italian restaurant will be opening within an eclectic Somerville dining spot that features globally-inspired dishes.

A Twitter post from @kcbaskin of The Boston Globe indicates that Fat Hen is going to open inside La Brasa on Broadway in East Somerville, with the tweet mentioning that Michael Bergin (Sel de La Terre, L'Espalier) will be heading up the spot. (La Brasa is run by Daniel Bojorquez of the now-closed Sel de La Terre in Natick and Frank McClelland of L'Espalier.) An event page from La Brasa states that Fat Hen will be taking over the market/cafe space, having seating for 30 and a very small open kitchen, with offerings including fresh pasta and braised meats along with craft beers and "offbeat" Italian wines.

If all goes as planned, Fat Hen could be opening in the spring of 2016.

La Brasa is located at 124 Broadway, which is a few blocks east of the Route 28 intersection. Its website can be found at http://www.labrasasomerville.com/
