An Italian restaurant that is located on a legendary stretch of highway north of Boston is looking to move to a new location a short distance away, taking over the space where a dining and drinking spot had once been.
The Saugus Advertiser is reporting that Victor's Italian Cuisine on Route 1 is looking to relocate from its current home just north of Route 1 Miniature Golf to the former Maddy's space on the other side of the mini-golf place (where Route 99 forks off from Route 1). The article indicates that the Italian eatery will move into the new--and larger--space within the next couple of months and that it will stay open in its current home until the new property is ready to be occupied. The new location of Victor's will have a liquor license, along with a bar and possibly a space for entertainment, according to the Advertiser.
The Maddy's space had previously been home to a country & western bar called the Blue Star.
The address for Victor's present location is 1539 Broadway, while the address for the new location will be 1639 Broadway. Its website can be found at http://www.victorsitaliancuisine.com/
