A new film from Magnolia Pictures about America's food industry is opening this Friday (June 19) in Boston and other cities across the country. "Food, Inc." centers around issues concerning the industrialization of food as well as the importance of local, sustainable food. Filmmaker Robert Kenner, who has produced episodes of such TV shows as "The American Experience" and "The Blues," looks into the role of the FDA and the USDA, the control of the country's food supply by corporations, and food-related health problems. Included in the documentary are interviews with food experts and progressive entrepreneurs.
