A French restaurant is coming to Boston this fall, opening in a spot that was once home to a high-end restaurant that was awarded many honors during its five-year existence. Bistro Du Midi, which will be opening sometime this fall on Boylston Street across from the Public Garden, looks to be a Provencal-style bistro, according to several online job postings (including one from BostonChefs.com). The restaurant will be moving into the space formerly occupied by Excelsior, a restaurant that offered hundreds of different wines to its customers and featured mostly New American cuisine before closing earlier this year.
According to Grub Street Boston, Bistro Du Midi may open sometime in late October. [November 23 update: According to their Facebook page, Bisto Du Midi is officially opening today.]
The address for this soon-to-open French restaurant on the edge of the Back Bay will be: Bistro Du Midi, 272 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02116.
