The Fenway neighborhood of Boston will see the opening of another Mexican restaurant this week. According to Grub Street Boston and several other sources, the Fenway Cantina will open its doors tomorrow on Boylston Street near Fenway Park, serving up Tex-Mex food and offering a variety of beers. [February 3 update: According to the restaurant's Facebook page, it looks like Friday, February 5 will now be the opening date.]
Grub Street mentions that the Fenway Cantina, which will be run by the people who own 88 Wharf in Milton Landing, will serve such items as chili, taco salads, tamales, quesadillas, burritos, tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, carne asada, and chicken mole, as well as more American fare such as macaroni and cheese and burgers. It looks like the restaurant will have about 20 beers on tap, with many more in bottles.
According to the Thrillist site, the Fenway Cantina will have a capacity of 150, with a bar seating 25. Thrillist mentions that the restaurant is moving into the space formerly occupied by the Chicken Bone, a sports bar that was known in part for its wings. The Fenway Cantina will be about two blocks from La Verdad, a taqueria across the street from Fenway Park that features authentic Mexican cuisine.
The address for this new Tex-Mex restaurant in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston is: Fenway Cantina, 1260 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02215.
