It looks like an upscale American restaurant in Jamaica Plain will be closing later this spring.
According to an article in the Boston Globe, The Alchemist Restaurant and Lounge on South Huntington Avenue will be shutting down in late May after being in business for about four years. The Globe mentions that The Alchemist will be replaced by a new restaurant owned by people behind the Common Ground in Allston and Coda in the South End, with the as-of-yet unnamed spot apparently being a bit like Coda, a comfort food restaurant and bar on Columbus Avenue that took over the old Tim's Tavern space in 2007.
The Alchemist has featured a variety of New American and comfort food dishes since opening, with their most recent menu including flatbread pizza, braised shortribs, spaghetti bolognese, fish and chips, grilled pork chops, eggplant roulade, mustard-glazed salmon, and turkey burgers.
The address for this soon-to-close restaurant in Jamaica Plain is: The Alchemist Restaurant and Lounge, 435 S Huntington Avenue, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130. The phone number is (617) 477-5741. And the website for the restaurant is at: http://alchemistlounge.com/
