Pinkberry Coming to the Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham

A national chain of frozen yogurt shops is getting ready to open on the South Shore, making this its first location to open in New England.

According to a press release sent to us by the company, Pinkberry is planning on opening at the Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham in late August. The release mentions that the new spot will have a sophisticated decor and both indoor and outdoor seating. A variety of frozen yogurts will be offered, including seasonal flavors such as watermelon, chocolate, pomegranate, and mango. Customers will have the options of a cup or a cone (the cone being called the One Handed Pinkberry), and all kind of toppings will be available (fruit, candy, nuts, granola, etc.). Smoothies and fruit parfaits will also be sold at Pinkberry.

[July 21 update: According to Maryanne Keeney Public Relations, Pinkberry will be opening their new shop in Hingham on Friday, August 20.]

The address for this upcoming yogurt store in Hingham will be: Pinkberry, 94 Derby Street, Hingham, MA, 02043. The website for the chain is at: www.pinkberry.com

Pinkberry, which is based in Los Angeles, first started out in 2005 and currently has about 85 stores. At the present time, the closest Pinkberry locations to Boston are in New York City, though the chain's website indicates that several other Pinkberry locations may be coming to New England soon, including one on Newbury Street in the Back Bay as well as three in Connecticut (Fairfield, Greenwich, and New Haven).
