A contemporary American restaurant on the southern edge of Boston's Back Bay has officially shut its doors, and as mentioned in an earlier article, another dining spot will soon be opening in its place.
According to their website, Laurel on Berkeley Street has closed after being in business for more than 20 years. As mentioned earlier here, Laurel's site states that the restaurant has been sold to Geoffrey's Cafe in Roslindale, which will be opening a second location of their eatery in the space.
Laurel featured mostly New American dishes, including short rib and mashed potato spring rolls, macaroni and cheese with lobster and bacon, pineapple chipotle BBQ chicken, rotisserie duck, panko crusted Chilean sea bass, grilled salmon, ground lamb sliders, and veal meatloaf. The dining spot had been featured on our Boston's Hidden Restaurants site, with the review being at this link:

Laurel's website mentions that their sister restaurant--Six Burner at 130 Dartmouth Street in the Back Bay--remains open for now, but it looks like that eatery will be closing soon as well.
The address for this now-closed Back Bay restaurant was: Laurel, 142 Berkeley Street, Boston, MA, 02116.
